Course Description

Buddha’s advice for a healthy mind − In these classes, we give ourselves the luxury of two wonderful meditations.

ONE // In the first, we experience our own inexhaustible ocean of naturally arising inner peace with breathing meditation. So simple, accessible anywhere, and yet so profound and useful. Let’s train together in this meditation … The deeper you go, the better it gets!

“The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful, free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, then we find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation, our minds will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually, we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult of circumstances.“

TWO // Then, using this spacious calm mind, the second meditation will be from the book, “How to Solve our Human Problems” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

11/3 Our problems do not exist outside the mind. Revolutionary wisdom gives us the option to change any and all situations. Let’s have some fun with this profound idea.
11/10 Future fearlessness. Becoming fearless now creates a fearless future.
11/17 FOMO … Do not miss the precious opportunity to gain control over your own mind.
11/24 We only have one problem … Delusions … and they are as impermanent as clouds.
12/1 Patience will set you free. So let’s go for the actual experience of patience, in meditation … this sublime mind cannot be enforced … it arises naturally, with Patience!
12/8 Why do we get mad? Knowing our own internal “ignition system” gives us the ability to not use it!
12/15 Exaggeration … making molehills out of mountains…makes the situation much easier to deal with … even rather amusing!
12/22 When things get jiggy … how can we quickly recall our essential peacefulness … by training … when things are not so jiggy!
