
Course Description
In this 6 week series of drop in classes we will practise breathing meditations with the specific intention of developing a daily meditation practice. Take this 6 week challenge to really try to develop this “go to” habit. It is the perfect remedy for our disturbed states of mind. We can do this. We just need encouragement and consistency. When we experience some results we begin to rely upon our own power to control and direct our mind away from its chaotic unpeaceful states to positive states of naturally arising wellbeing. These meditations will be derived from the book “How to Transform your Life” by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
May 29; Using the breath, we can experience the mind settling by allowing ourselves the luxury of just thinking about only one thing for 10 mins. Nice!
Can focussing on one’s nostrils actually calm one’s mind?
June 5; Resting on the breath we can watch the waves of disturbance settle, become an observer, quietly allowing the waves to settle. Very nice!
Can real peace arise naturally from within my mind?
June 12; Learn black and white breathing, and experience the power of discovering our essential Buddha nature, that space that we all have that is simply beautiful.
Is it possible to experience my essential pure nature by merely sitting and breathing for 10 mins?
June 19; Imagination is key. While resting on the breath we can allow our calm self to connect with the entire web of kindness that supports us. We are not alone.
Are we really all connected, or am I alone and eternally unloved/unloveable?
June 26; Enjoying our naturally residing peaceful mind arrived at via our breath, we can appreciate how everyone experiences unpeaceful states, and we strongly wish for them to be free to experience this same peace.
How exactly can wishing others to be happy make me happy?
July 3; Feeling so much confidence in our ability to settle into a peaceful state, with our breath and seeing our essential connection to others, we can enjoy developing love and compassion, and our boundless potential to develop the limitless capacity of our ocean-like mind.
Why would I not wish to attain a state of supreme unchanging inner peace and happiness?
Please come along and give yourself permission to experience the power of Meditating in a group. Feel free to do one or more classes, or challenge yourself to the whole series. We also can spend some time together after the class creating community, having tea, asking questions and offering support. Or just being goofy.
