Course Description

Buddha gave extensive teachings on emptiness, or ultimate truth….Why? So we can free our mind from its heaviness and predictability, so we can be light and flexible and not overly involved in the situation. We all experience discomfort and agitation every day, and we all wish for this not to be the case. Our main wish is to be happy. The main wish of everyone else is to be happy. We have externally developed many technologies and tools to deliver this happiness, and yet, they do not deliver for very long. Like chasing a rainbow, we arrive somewhere thinking the problem is solved and another problem, or multiple problems, appears on our horizon. What is going on?

On Thursday evenings through March and April we will ponder Buddha’s solution to this dilemma, have a good laugh at our misperceptions of reality and make some adjustments with the powerful tool of meditation.

March 14th What is the mind? And how can I get it off AutoPilot.

March 21st Do problems actually exist? Or are they imagined? Well “my” problems certainly do. Your problems? Not really that interesting. We learn a meditation that restores balance to this precarious imbalance.

March 28th Where am I? Lost is space? Lost in translation? Lost in isolation? Or held dearly in the eternal space of ever increasing dynamic love? It is our choice.

April 4th Who am I? The world according to me. My world. My story It feels so important, the defining aspect of my existence. Is this idea perhaps the root of the problem?

April 11th Stay free. Enjoy a light and flexible state of mind. Simple practical meditations that we use everyday. Tips and tricks for negotiating perceived reality.

Exploring these questions can be both challenging . . . and super refreshing. We can enjoy this opportunity here at this Meditation Temple in the middle of Berlin . . . Teachings and meditations are based on How to Transform Your Life by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
