English Meditation Class

This drop-in class is open to everyone and includes guided meditation, a brief teaching on the topic and inspiring chanted prayers. The course is based on the fundamental text for Buddhist meditation practice entitled The New Meditation Handbook by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (available from Tharpa publications). Classes are self-contained; no previous registration necessary.

Each class takes you step-by-step through one essential Buddhist meditation practice, presenting them in a simple and practical way.

  • Find openness and stillness within
  • Fill your life with joy
  • Solve your daily problems through meditation
  • Discover methods to accomplish the highest goals

The New Meditation Handbook is a practical guide to meditation. It teaches us how to make ourselves and others happy.  We are taken on a journey into our heart, discovering and deepening our understanding and experience of the 21 traditional Lamrim meditations. Classes are usually taught by Buddhist monk Gen Ananda.
